性质描述:

无色透明体。熔点-90℃，沸点215-219℃，123-127℃（8.0kPa），相对密度0.8859（20/4℃），折射率1.4358，闪点82℃。能与醇、醚混溶，几乎不溶于水，在25℃水中的溶解度0.01%。易聚合，工业品可用100ppm对苯二酚或50-100ppm对苯二酚单甲醚作阻聚剂。

生产方法:

1.直接酯化法丙烯酸与2-乙基己醇以硫酸为催化剂进行酯化，再经中和，脱醇和精馏得成品。2.酯交换法丙烯酸甲酯与2-乙基己醇在催化剂四氯化钛存在下进行酯交换反应生成丙烯酸-2-乙基己酯，经精馏制得成品。

用途:

丙烯酸2-乙基已酯为高分子聚合物的单体，与其他单体进行共聚、交联、接枝等到丙烯酸类树脂产品，用于合成纤维织物加工、粘合剂、涂料、塑料改性等许多方面。
