Background:

Milbemectin is an insecticide used primarily to control mites.¹Milbemectin is a mixture of milbemycin A₃and milbemycin A₄that has acaricidal and nematocidal activity against adult spider mites, spider mite eggs, andC. eleganswith IC₅₀values of 5.3, 41.1, and 9.5 µg/ml, respectively.²It acts as an allosteric agonist of theDrosophilaRDL GABA receptor.³It is also effective against the pinewood nematode,B. xylophiluswith an LC₂₀of 0.0781 mg/liter.⁴
