Clenbuterol (NAB-365) hydrochloride, a selectiveβ2-adrenergicagonist, enhances skeletal muscle strength and hypertrophy. Clenbuterol hydrochloride induces growth factor mRNA, activates astrocytes, and protects rat brain tissue against ischemic damage^[1][2][3].

Clenbuterol increases lipolysis in rat primary adipocytes compared with control. Free glycerol release into the culture medium is 158% and 190% of control values in cultures containing 0.1, or 1 μM Clenbuterol, respectively^[1].

Clenbuterol (0.01-0.5 mg/kg; i.p.; male Long-Evans rats) hydrochloride reduces the cortical infarct volume in Long-Evans rats as measured 7 days after permanent occlusion of the middle cerebral artery^[2].
