Gambogenic Acid, a naturally occuring ingredient dound in gamboge, is a potent inhibitor of the fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) signaling pathway in erlotinib-resistant non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It has anticancer activity and is able to suppress patient-derived xenograft growth. Gambogenic acid acts as an effective inhibitor of EZH2, specifically and covalently binds to Cys668 within the EZH2-SET domain, and induces EZH2 ubiquitination.
