AQ-13 is an aminoquinoline agent potentially for treatment of malaria. AQ-13 is effective against chloroquine-resistant strains of Plasmodium falciparum. It is structurally similar to the widely used chloroquine diphosphate (CQ). Malaria is a major health problem in endemic countries and chemotherapy remains the most important tool in combating it.
