Background:

Potent and selective GAL3 antagonist (Ki = 5 nM). Exhibits greater than 100-fold selectively for GAL3 over GAL1, GAL2, adrenergic α1a and dopamine D5 receptors. Anxiolytic- and antidepressant-like effects in vivo.
