11β-13,14-dihydro-15-keto Prostaglandin F2α-d4(11β-13,14-dihydro-15-keto PGF2α-d4) is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of 11β-13,14-dihydro-15-keto PGF2αby GC- or LC-MS. 11β-13,14-dihydro-15-keto PGF2αis a metabolite of PGD2in the 15-hydroxy PGDH pathway.1,2Infusion or inhalation of tritiated PGD2in normal males results in the appearance of peak levels of both 11β-PGF2α, as the immediate product, and 11β-13,14-dihydro-15-keto PGF2αin the plasma within 10 minutes.1Homogenates of human lung metabolize PGD2first to 11β-PGF2αand then to 11β-15-keto PGF2αin the presence of NAD+, but not 11β-13,14-dihydro-15-keto PGF2α.2Guinea pig liver and kidney homogenates metabolize PGD2to 11β-13,14-dihydro-15-keto PGF2α,via11β-PGF2α, in the presence of NAD+and NADP+.2
