Background:

Pelargonidin 3-O-glucoside is an anthocyanin and the 3-O-glucoside of pelargonidin that has been found inFragariaand has transporter inhibitory and antioxidant properties.^1,2It inhibits bilitranslocase transporter activity in isolated rat liver plasma membrane vesicles (K_i= 2.8 µM).¹Pelargonidin 3-O-glucoside scavenges peroxyl radicals in an oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) assay.²
