PV-10, formerly known as Acid Red 94 and Rose bengal disodium, an iodinated fluorescein analogue, with potential antineoplastic and radiosensitizing activities. When injected into tumor tissue, PV-10 specifically targets and concentrates in tumor cells, producing cytotoxic singlet oxygen when exposed to ionizing radiation. In addition, PV-10 may stimulate an anti-tumor immune response. References: Koevary SB. Selective toxicity of rose bengal to ovarian cancer cells in vitro.
