Background:
Tedizolid-13C-d3is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of tedizolid by GC- or LC-MS. Tedizolid is an oxazolidinone antibiotic and active metabolite of the antibiotic tedizolid phosphate .1Tedizolid phosphate is converted to tedizolid by phosphatasesin vivo. It is active against a wide variety of clinical isolates, including isolates of methicillin-resistantS. aureus(MRSA),E. faecalis, and penicillin-susceptibleS. pneumoniae(MICs = 0.5, 0.5, and 0.25 µg/ml, respectively), as well as isolates of anaerobic bacteria (MICs = 0.25-4 µg/ml). Tedizolid protects against mortality in a mouse model of systemic methicillin-susceptibleS. aureus(MSSA) infection (ED50= 8.8 mg/kg).2
