Background:
1-Palmitoyl-d9-2,3-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycerol is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of 1,2,3-tripalmitoyl-rac-glycerol by GC- or LC-MS. 1,2,3-Tripalmitoyl-rac-glycerol is a triacylglycerol that contains palmitic acid at thesn-1,sn-2, andsn-3 positions and has been found in palm oil.1It inhibits glucose-stimulated insulin secretion and reduces viability of INS1 cells in a concentration-dependent manner.2Myocardial levels of 1,2,3-tripalmitoyl-rac-glycerol are elevated by greater than 5-fold in a rat model of diabetes induced by streptozotocin .31,2,3-Tripalmitoyl-rac-glycerol has been used to form the lipid matrices of etoposide-incorporated nanoparticles.4Formulations containing 1,2,3-tripalmitoyl-rac-glycerol have been used in cosmetic products as thickening and skin-conditioning agents.5
1-Palmitoyl-d9-2,3-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycerol MaxSpec?standard is a quantitative grade standard of 1-palmitoyl-d9-2,3-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycerol that has been prepared specifically for mass spectrometry and related applications where quantitative reproducibility is required. The solution has been prepared gravimetrically and is supplied in a deactivated glass ampule sealed under argon. The concentration was verified by comparison to an independently prepared calibration standard. This 1-palmitoyl-d9-2,3-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycerol MaxSpec?standard is guaranteed to meet identity, purity, stability, and concentration specifications and is provided with a batch-specific certificate of analysis. Ongoing stability testing is performed to ensure the concentration remains accurate throughout the shelf life of the product.Note: The amount of solution added to the vial is in excess of the listed amount. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately measure volumes for preparation of calibration standards. Follow recommended storage and handling conditions to maintain product quality.
