Background:

Ganglioside G_D2is a glycosphingolipid that contains two sialic acid residues linked to an inner galactose unit. It is frequently expressed on tumor cells of neuroectodermal origin, including neuroblastomas.¹Ganglioside G_D2Mixture (bovine buttermilk) is a semi-synthetic mixture of ganglioside G_D2produced from buttermilk and is thus free from potential contamination with transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSE). This mixture contains ganglioside G_D2molecular species with fatty acyl chains of variable lengths.
