Background:

AZD 2716 is an inhibitor of secretory phospholipase A₂(sPLA₂; IC₅₀s = 0.01, 0.04, and 0.4 µM for sPLA2-IIa, -V, and -X, respectively).¹It inhibits sPLA₂activity in atherosclerotic plaque homogenates isolated from patients with coronary artery disease (IC₅₀= 56 nM).
