Ruzasvir (MK8408; MK-8408) is a novel and potent pan-genotypic HCV nonstructural protein 5A (NS5A) inhibitor with a 'flat' GT1 mutant profile. It contains a unique tetracyclic indole core while retaining the imidazole–proline–valine Moc motifs of their previous NS5A inhibitors. Ruzasvir has successfully completed Phase II clinical studies for the treatment of persistent HCV infection.
