Galloflavin Potassium is a potent inhibitor of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), inhibiting both LDH-A and LDH-B isoforms of the enzyme with Ki values of 5.46 μM and 15.06 μM, respectively. It blocks the proliferation of cancer cells by blocking glycolysis and ATP production. Inhibition of the glycolytic pathway by galloflavin induces oxidative stress and apoptosis in breast tumor cell lines.
