Apramycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic first isolated fromS. tenebrarius.1It is active against a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including strains which produce aminoglycoside-modifying enzymes.2Apramycin inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria bothin vivoandin vitro.1
