CMPF is an endogenous metabolite of furan fatty acids. CMPF is highly bound to albumin. Its main role is to inhibit cell transport and subsequent deiodination of thyroxine (T4)[1].

CMPF can effectively replace the competitive T4 binding molecules in albumin and play a role by indirectly binding albumin. And CMPF can inhibit the binding of T4 and albumin by increasing the serum concentration of competitive binding molecules such as oleic acid[2].
